Pet Friendly Options

Many of us plant parents are also parents to a pet or two. Here is a short list of plants we commonly stock that are safe for plants:

Here’s a link to the ASPCA website that lists whether your plant is toxic or not. Some animals do not mess with plants as much as others, but it is better to be safe than sorry if you are unsure with how yours will react! We recommend keeping the plant high on a shelf or in a hanging basket if you are concerned about your pets with certain plants.

Low Light Tolerant Options

All living plants need some amount light to survive. There may be plants that can tolerate extremely low light, but they will not put out new growth, and will eventually start to slowly decline without light. There are a few varieties that would appreciate brighter light, but can tolerate low light conditions. All of these plants also happen to be great beginner plants for newer plant parents!

We do also carry grow lights that can provide your space with more light to grow plants in darker corners. If you are unsure of how a plant will do in your home, take some photos and speak with a sales associate! Though we cannot guarantee full success due to not seeing the space for ourselves, we can help determine if your plant will do well in that location.

Here’s a look at the Nasa approved air purifying plants that we commonly stock. Household toxins include Benzene, Formaldehyde, Trichloroethylene, Xylene/Toluene, and Ammonia. All of these plants help to filter at least one of these toxins!
